Most of the PA type screw on drivers don't have flat or even close response, and the designs are higher distortion compared to better drivers. There are some not as bad as others.
The EV 1828/29 aren't "too bad" We experimented with low end stuff using the University ID60. Not great and blew up. The EV 1828 held up better even though rated half the power. Not a fan of the 1823M. The Gollehon screw on mid was decent also. And some Atlas were tolerable, but none could play loud without distortion. And just think of the phase issues with 24 drivers- the response graph has to look like an amusement park ride.

Main point for posting was the seemingly more than coincidental similarity between the "telefunky" and the University. Sadly, i cannot find any good detailed pics of the University.
Seems intuitive at our level here that low distortion/wide bandwidth was not the design goal of these units.
